Elements of a Successful Implementation

A Manufacturing, Planning, and Control solution can form an integral foundation for a business. Implementing a system successfully is a non-trivial activity.

The software and hardware are only part of a successful solution. The implementation services required to ensure that the software and hardware are installed and configured correctly are just as important. These services include:

Another key element of a successful implementation is the customer. Ultimately the customer needs to take ownership of the system. During the implementation process the customer needs to be prepared to:

Phased Approach

Trakware Systems advocates a phased approach to implementing a Manufacturing, Planning, and Control solution. The phased approach allows the customer to:

Determining the phases that are right for the customer is a function of a prioritized list of customer objectives.

For example:

If your primary objective is job costing, then there may be several prerequisite items that will need to be implemented.

Basically project costs in a manufacturing operation are comprised of labor and material costs. Therefore an initial phase of the implementation may be time collection on the shop floor. Time collection can be implemented quickly with TRAKware, allowing the customer can realize results within weeks of installing a TRAKware system. A second phase would probably be purchasing, ensuring that all material costs are collected and allocated to the right projects. If you maintain inventory, this too would need to be implemented prior to your objective of job costing being met.

During initial discussions with a customer, a Trakware Systems representative will discuss your needs and requirements. The resulting objectives will form a basis for a phased implementation.
