TRAKware Office Applications

Employees responsible for the up front planning, control, and analysis of an operation use the TRAKware office applications. Data collected from the manufacturing floor is made available to everyone in real-time. The office applications are used to:

establish estimates

Office applications include:

bidTRAK - is a full function estimating application. TRAKware's optional designer module can be used with bidTRAK to configure parametric parts and products.
projectTRAK - is the primary application used for planning, control, and analysis. It includes the all the functionality offered with bidTRAK plus all of the production functionality required in an Manufacturing, Planning, and Control system. projectTRAK's optional scheduler module is a real-time production scheduling tool.
financeTRAK - is fully functional integrated accounting solution for GL, AR, AP, and payroll.

projectTRAK is the premier application for employees in your office. All of the functionality offered by bidTRAK is included in projectTRAK.

projectTRAK makes the communication flow between the office and the shop seamless and efficient, resulting in an informed and accountable workforce.

Create estimates using the integrated TRAKware product catalog, or import estimate information directly into your project from your favorite estimating software or spreadsheet using TRAKware's interlink module. With TRAKware's unique Reverse Collection Mode (RCM) you can estimate at a coarse level, and collect data at a detailed level. The result is that you leverage the experience on the shop floor by collecting detailed manufacturing process information without having to pre-define individual labor processes. This information can then be analyzed and reported to improve your estimates.

Job costing is automatic and seamless. Shop floor data capture accumulates all the information necessary for accurate project reporting, as labor and material costs are recorded in real-time. Administration of work orders, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and shipping is made easy, as all the information is accessible through one system.

TRAKware designer is an optional parametric configuration tool that works in conjunction with bidTRAK or projectTRAK. designer allows the user to configure parts and products within the TRAKware catalog that incorporate options, change lists (alternate bills), and parametric capabilities.

Products created using designer have the ability to dynamically build Bills of Materials and Bills of Labor based on options and dimensions selected when the product is used in a project. In a traditional system, if the user requires an alternate size, color, construction, ... it requires the a new product be configured with a specific Bill of Material and Bill of Labor for that new item. With TRAKware designer the user selects an option and the product dynamically builds itself. This ability gives the user the ability to provide alternate proposals quickly and confidently.

scheduler is an optional module for projectTRAK. The scheduler is an integrated graphical production scheduling tool, which allows you to manage your critical resources and tasks for optimal profitability and throughput.

Easily identify bottlenecks in your production schedule, then simply drag and drop the tasks to reschedule within your constraints.

Provide status reports internally or to your customers all with real-time production scheduling information. These reports can even be published on the Internet for your customers to view remotely.

bidTRAK provides all the functionality for estimating within TRAKware. The user can create location folders, project phases, deliverables, alternate proposals, ... Once a estimate/quotation is accepted by the customer projectTRAK can be used to take all the information from the estimate and convert it to a project (job) with the push of a button on the projectTRAK screen.

Estimating can be as fine or course as required.

If a quick estimate is required all you need to do is define the deliverable that you are providing to the customer and set a price and send the quote.
There is no need to pre-configure products in the catalog if they are "one-of' never to be quoted again deliverables.
bidTRAK supports estimating using a base metric such as lineal feet.
Or, if you require the confidence that your estimate is accurate to the component level you can use pre configured catalog products as deliverables or you can build new deliverables based on catalog products and parts.
bidTRAK can use catalog parts and products configured using the TRAKware designer.

In a network environment all estimates in the system can be consolidated providing forecasts, win/loss analysis, project profitability analysis, ...

If an estimator operates remotely, bidTRAK designer may be the appropriate solution. bidTRAK designer is a stand alone application that can be used while not connected to the main database. Catalogs and estimates can be synchronized between the main database and the stand alone application.

financeTRAK incorporates General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Payroll. Features and capabilities include:

A designate with 'System Administrator' privileges within financeTRAK is responsible for:

Security maintenance
Archiving old data and creating backups
Setting up new companies
Setting permissible transaction dates for GL, AR, and AP
Maintaining fiscal period information
Maintaining serialized values

interlink is an optional module with TRAKware that allows projectTRAK to import or export information with external applications.

TRAKware uses an open database that allows users with appropriate privileges and knowledge to read and write directly with the database. interlink provides a foundation for importing quotations or exporting accounting information without accessing the database directly. interlink uses XML file formats with application specific templates to ensure that the data is in the appropriate format for importing into TRAKware or exporting to an external application. With XML-based integration, our customers can take full advantage of existing financial, engineering and production software they have invested both time and effort in. XML is fast becoming the preferred method for applications in discrete manufacturing industries to efficiently and effectively exchange critical and time sensitive information.
